When choosing a care home for yourself or a loved one, it’s a good idea to get to know the local area. Here at Hart Care, we’re perfectly positioned between Plymouth, Tavistock and The Moors, allowing our residents and their families to make regular visits to popular local attractions, like these.

Tavistock Town

Just 15 minutes drive from the care home is the ancient stannary town of Tavistock. The town is beautifully friendly and one of a handful of places in Devon that have been awarded world heritage status. Tavistock’s unique architecture has captivated visitors for centuries, an abundance of quaint cafés are perfect for a relaxing cuppa and the famous pannier market is always worth a browse.

Lopwell Dam

15 minutes in the opposite direction, will take you to the beautiful natural setting of Lopwell Dam. Enjoy delicious food and drink surrounded by nature. At the water’s edge, keep your eyes peeled for Kingfishers, Atlantic Salmon and, if you’re lucky, the Atlantic Grey Seal.

Lopwell Dam is a popular family spot that’s great for a visit all year round.

Buckland Abbey

Buckland Abbey is a historic treasure situated just a five minute drive from our care home. The abbey, which is part museum, part house is an interesting historical attraction for visitors of all ages. The surrounding meadows, orchards and woodlands are perfect for a short stroll in a quiet, relaxing environment.

Making memories

We encourage families to take their loved ones on plenty of visits whilst they’re still physically able to. Making memories is so important, and we’re lucky to be surrounded by lots of interesting attractions. In as little as 5 minutes drive from our care home, you can be immersed in the Devonshire countryside, enjoying the nature at its most pure.
