Hartcare & The Community: Bake sale comes back with a bang

Ready, steady, bake.

On Friday the 28th of September, Hart Care hosted its annual cake sale in conjunction with MacMillan Cancer Support. The display of cakes, baked by our staff, our residents, and their families, formed a spectacular display in our lounge. There was everything from classic Victoria Sponges to decadent chocolate cupcakes. Mary Berry herself would’ve been spoilt for choice.

For several years, our Devonshire care hare has been involved with raising money for Macmillan. The cake sale is always a favourite with residents, staff and families here at the home and there’s a real feel good factor for everybody involved. Last year the sale raised over £400 for the charity and although we’re still totting up this years donation, we’re sure it’ll surpass last years.

The Midnight Walk

Earlier this year, several of Hart Care’s friendly team represented us in The Midnight Walk, which is an annual event organised by St Lukes Hospice. Hart Care was able to raise £652 through sponsorship from friends, families of Residents and staff.

St Lukes was really appreciative for such generous sponsorship and again everybody who was involved, either by walking or kindly sponsoring the event, felt that they were part of something that is so worthwhile.

Life at Hart Care

Events like the cake sale and The Midnight Walk are all part of the fun here at Hart Care. They help to keep our staff and residents entertained, and they really add to the feel good atmosphere that flows through our Devonshire care home.
